AI explainer video maker: explain a hard idea in a minute

A good explainer answers one question: why should I care, and how does this work? AI video makes producing one much easier, but the thinking that makes it clear is still yours to do.

A structure that works

  1. The problem: something the viewer recognises.
  2. The cost of the problem: why it matters.
  3. The idea: how your solution works, in one sentence.
  4. How it works: three steps at most.
  5. What to do next: one clear action.

At about 150 spoken words a minute, a 60 to 90-second explainer needs only 150 to 225 words. If you have written more, cut it.

Which style?

  • Flat motion graphics: best for software and abstract ideas.
  • 3D: best for showing the inside of physical things.
  • A character: best for emotional or human topics.

Keep generated scenes free of text, and then add labels and diagrams in an editor so that the words are correct.

Show, don't tell

If the narration says “data travels between systems”, show something moving between two places. Every sentence in your script should suggest a picture.

Check the details

AI can produce plausible images of things that are wrong. If you are explaining a science, medical or financial topic, get an expert to check the final video. Our training video guide covers internal teaching videos.
