Text to video AI: turn words into a finished video

Text to video AI turns written words into moving pictures. How much you write is up to you. A single line is enough to explore an idea, and a full script gives you far more control.

Three ways to use text

A one-line idea

Write what the video is about and let the tool decide the shots. This is the fastest route and suits ads, social posts and first drafts: “A 30-second video showing a tired commuter discovering an electric bike.”

A scene description

Describe one moment in detail, including the camera and the light. This gives you the most polished short clips.

A full script

Paste your script, including any lines of dialogue, and pick a length that suits it. As a rough guide, people speak about 150 words a minute, so a 300-word narration needs about two minutes.

How to write text that turns into good video

  • Write for the eye. “Sales grew” is not a picture. “A shop owner flips the sign to open as a queue forms outside” is.
  • Keep events in order. Say what happens first, next and last.
  • Put speech in double quotation marks. That is how the model knows the words should be spoken.
  • Describe sound. Traffic, rain or a quiet room all give the audio something to work with.

Text to video for long content

Long text is where most tools struggle, because each clip is created without knowing about the others. Our long video generator plans the whole piece first, so the people and places you describe at the start are still the same at the end.

When text alone is not enough

Text cannot define an exact face or product. If the look matters, start with a picture using image to video. The two work well together: use text to explore, then lock in the look with an image.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a whole script?
Yes. Paste it and choose a length that fits. About 150 spoken words fills a minute.
What is the best text to video AI?
It depends on the job. For a single realistic clip, several models are excellent. For a complete, longer video from one prompt, you need a tool that plans the whole piece. See our comparison of the best AI video generators.
Does text to video work in other languages?
Yes. Write your prompt in the language you want and the plan and speech follow it.
